Welcome!

So very nice of you to stop by! What a fun and challenging hobby to have!

May you always have work for your hands to do.
May your pockets hold always a coin or two.
May the sun shine bright on your windowpane.
May the rainbow be certain to follow each rain.
May the hand of a friend always be near you.
And may God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.

Valentine Treat Box

Valentine Treat Box

I made this Valentine Treat Box for 2 challenges -- one at Joan's Gardens and the other at JUGS.....needed to make a box, add a flourish, butterfly and a flower. It was also my VERY first attempt at making a rose!
Top
This is looking at the bottom and the top at an angle. I made an origami box using GKD hot pink cs. Then used GKD white cs for the embossed nested heart from Spellbinders. I rubbed it in baby pink ink.

Side view

I used Spellbinders lacey squares to cut out the top using Cloud9Design dp, the stamps were Impressive stamps colored with Sakura glitter pens.
Added some lace along the sides, bling, flourish of pearls, Martha Stewart butterfly and my rose! I used the McGills punches to create the rose --starburst, floral petals and geranium leaf. It was exciting to have it actually turn out the first time!
Added some bows...AND Happy Valentine's Day!

This is another one. I used GKD pink cardstock, St. Valentine collection dp. The stamp of the dog and kitty is Penny Johnson Stampavie. The saying is Impressive stamp. It is hard to see in the picture but the background has been stamped with an embossing folder by Sizzix. Colored with Sakura glitter pens, copics, added some bling and ribbon.

This one was for a Stamp TV sketch challenge. This is also for a heart and ribbon challenge at  Really Reasonable Ribbon. I used the Valentine theme that I've been working on for this one.

I used the hearts and ribbon tags spellbinders...stamped with Mark's Finest Hearts stamp and colored with Smooch. Then added some ribbon, bling and a heart doily. It was GK red, pink cs and cloud9design dp.

And also did line and decorate the envelope!

This is the inside which I had stitched on and then stamped and added a little bling of course ! :-)

Hearts

Finally got a Valentine's Card done....I have been fiddling WAY too long on this project. But I wanted to do stitching and tried to figure out how to do that....and then of course I had to use the spellbinders nestablities and do some cutting...then had to do some embossing...then had to do some coloring....then had to add some ribbon....and some bling....and line the envelope.....BUT at last ONE is done!!!!

Going to enter this one in Mark's Finest...Speedy Challenge...to use hearts...I have plenty of those on both the inside and outside!! Also on Really Reasonable Ribbons challenge...hearts and a bow....

This is the outside

This is the inside.
On the outside I embossed with a Sizzix folder...then colored the hearts with copics. I used an Outline fan stamp, colored with copics, fine line markers and added a ribbon and bling.

The envelope is lined with heart paper that matches the inside. It is from DCWV.

This is the inside where I did my stitching. Joan had given me some clues as to what to do...and this was my first attempt and it did work!!! I put 2 paper hearts behind it and added an Outline stamp and colored and of course, a little bling! Embossed with love on the bottom.

Christmas Thank Yous

Thank You

Inside
The thank you cards are all done and sent out!!!

 YEA!!!

I really had a fun time making these thank you cards though. I used the snow globe stamp from I Brake for Stamps and then added Gina Kay stamp snowman or penguin stamps to the inside of the globe, added some snowflake stamps, colored with copics. Then embossed the globe with pearl and the bottom of the globe with various colors of embossing glitter. Cut the globe out. Used some winter dp as background. Topped it all off with a thank you turquoise ribbon and bow and added some snowflake embellishments to the card front and inside and envelope. I was pleased with the results.

So...that job done....ALL of the Christmas is taken down and put away in the house inside and outside....looks a little bare and NOT quite as bright...but it is clean! Always a good feeling when the job is done!

Now on to the next project!!! Need to finish up a calendar for a friend BEFORE January is over!!!! Hopefully today it will get completed!

Stylish Award from Janeen

How nice of Janeen to send this award out!!!
Now I need to tell you 8 things about myself!

1. I am a retired first grade teacher of 37 years. I loved working and teaching 6 and 7 year olds and thoroughly enjoyed my teaching experience...but am glad to have turned the page in my next chapter of life!

2. I LOVE to travel. My next big trip planned is to Ireland. My niece and I are going to complete our visit to this country in March. We went last March and saw part of the country and hope to see the rest this time!

3. I am so excited that one of my very best friends will be moving back to my area. We are looking forward to many wonderful times as we are both retired and have time to do those "bucket list" things!

4. I LOVE to be creative and work with stamps, cards, scrapbooking, making jewelry to name just a few.  I also enjoy knitting and am always busy with a knitting project. Right now I am working on an afghan that I am designing using different stitch patterns.

5. I really enjoy taking pictures and when I go on my travels I take LOTS of pictures! Usually I will make a digital book for the people I travel with and also make a scrapbook for myself. I have been known to also scrapbook a book for them too...BUT since I discovered digital...it is LOTS quicker!

6. My family comes to my house for Thanksgiving. It has become the Fall tradition and is a great way for the family to gather together and catch up on all of the happenings. My house is small but we make it work! I have one brother and one sister both who have 2 children who have 2 children (except one who has none) and that means LOTS of people in my house. We started using paper plates the year I dislocated my shoulder the day before Thanksgiving while putting up a bulletin board at school! I slipped off a chair, landed on the shoulder, dislocated it and spent the afternoon in Urgent Care getting fixed up! My sister and husband drove over by 7 am Thanksgiving morning to get the turkey in the oven!! YUP!!! We had Thanksgiving!

7. I have 2 adorable cats who keep me company. They each have their own unique personalities. Snickers is the alpha kitty and assumes the I am in charge position while Ginger is the talker. She talks away with me...and sometimes I KNOW she knows what I'm asking her...she can do what I tell her to do at times and it is truly like she understands!!! I'm sure it is just by chance..but??? Makes you wonder!!

8. I enjoy life...what it has to offer...have good friends...good family...good times...and am very content and happy with where things are at. I like what I'm doing....what my choices are...and am pleased with how things are....I am enjoying life and am thankful for what I have!
